Location & Times 

Afternoon / Evening classes will be held every Tuesday afternoon/evening from 13th February to the end of November.

Classes will be held at Doonside Community Centre, 32 Hill End Road Doonside. 

2024 Class Times

**Class times may be subject to change based on numbers

Daytime classes will be held every Tuesday at the Doonside Community Centre, Hill End Rd, Doonside from 20th February 2024 through to the end of November.

Age groups are determined by the age of the participant as of September 1st, 2024.

Additional Classes

Additional classes are held on Thursday afternoon/evening later in the year for team practices at Blacktown Girl Guides, Kildare Rd, Blacktown. 

Registration 

Price:
– $66 (4 years & under)
– $88 (5 years & over)

Payable to the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture. This includes registration, public liability insurance, music copyright, access to syllabus video, participation in zone competitions and school administration costs.

Club Joining Fee  

$20 is payable to the club by week 4. This includes a fundraising levy, club administration and other general costs.

Class Fees  

Members will be required to pay a registration fee and weekly class fees.

Class Fees are charged by our club to cover cost of hall hire, club based awards, to subsidise team leotard/skirt. Our teachers are all volunteers who teach for the love of physie.

Class fees are based on the members age and can be paid weekly, fortnightly, monthly, by the term or annually. Preferred method is by direct deposit into Blacktown City Physical Culture Club account.

Class Requirements

All students MUST meet the following requirements before beginning classes:

• be fully toilet trained
• be able to follow instructions
• show respect for teachers and other students
• able to be separated from parents in a supported learning environment

Class Dress Code

It is essential to have a full range of motion during class and that your teacher is able to see the outline/lines/shapes of your body to correct positions and technique. Therefore, loose baggy clothing is not suitable for class.

We recommend:

• Club branded attire
• Club coloured singlet tops or fitted t-shirts
• Club coloured bike shorts/tights
• Practice leotard
• Hair pulled back out of face, e.g. ponytail, braid or bun
• Don’t forget a water bottle

Club colours – Black, White, hot pink.

Silver soft soled ballet shoes with silver 1/4 inch elastic are to be worn in class from term 3. Bare feet is ok to start the physie year.

Uniform shop is held 1st Tuesday of the month starting April, selling both new and second hand leotard/skirts, ballet shoes and club branded attire.

Competitions: General Information

Competitions are a great way for members to be able to display what they have learnt throughout the year. Our glamorous competitions run on weekends from August through to November.

There are a range of competitions that members can compete in from interclubs, zone individual and team competitions and club competitions, as well as State and Grand finals for individuals if chosen.

If you wish to compete in individual competitions, you will be required to wear:

Competition approved leotard and skirt (must be checked by your teacher prior to competitions)

• Silver ballet shoes with 1/4 inch elastic
• Shimmer tights (11/12 years and Ladies)
• Fishnet stockings (13 years +)

Girls 7 years and over will also be required to purchase and wear the club team leotard and skirt for team competition (if selected), which is also worn at club competitions.

No makeup or spray tans permitted for girls 12 and under.
